In modern electronics manufacturing, the annual inspection of all ESD protection devices in accordance with DIN EN 61340-5-1 is a critical component of quality management; in practice, however, it often represents a significant source of additional effort.
The combination of electronic inspection stickers (RFID tags) and a fully integrated measurement system such as EPA SafeAssure® fundamentally solves these problems. It transforms the time-consuming search into a guided, error-tolerant, and audit-proof digital audit workflow.

When testing manufacturing equipment (assets), such as ESD tables, chairs, ionizers, or ESD clothing, a wide range of different measurement values must be recorded and evaluated according to standards. EPA SafeAssure® simplifies this process through three interlocking components:
A durable RFID tag assigns a unique identifier (UID) to each asset. By scanning the object with the built-in RFID reader located on the top edge of the EPA SafeAssure®, it is quickly and contactlessly identified. This makes mixed-up Excel spreadsheets, reading errors, and transposed digits a thing of the past.

A measurement point combines everything needed for a specific test task—for example, measuring surface resistance while simultaneously recording temperature and humidity. The EPA SafeAssure® also immediately and automatically compares the result with the stored standard limits and directly indicates whether the value meets the requirements.
So that you don't have to think about what needs to be measured and where every time you perform recurring inspections, EPA SafeAssure® records the exact procedure for each piece of equipment:
The first time: You define once which steps are required for each object (e.g., 1. ESD table on the left, 2. Shelf on the right, 3. Grounding module). The device saves this sequence.
For all future exams: Simply scan the RFID tag. The EPA SafeAssure® loads the saved procedure and guides you step by step through the measurement, like a digital assistant (“Step 1 of 3 complete,” “Step 2 of 3 complete”).
An RFID-based system such as EPA SafeAssure® relieves the stress on inspectors in the field and reliably protects against operator errors:
Stay flexible without wasting time: If the conditions for a measurement aren’t right right away (e.g., because an electrode isn’t making optimal contact), simply repeat the measurement step by tapping the display. Only when everything is right should you move on to the next point. You can also add new measurement points on the spot as needed.
Instant clarity at the measurement site: You don’t need to memorize limit value tables or flip through folders. The device compares your measurement directly with the DIN EN 61340-5-1 standard and immediately displays a clear result:

Thanks to the smart RFID integration, what was once simply a measuring device becomes a key component of your quality assurance system. The EPA SafeAssure® combines precise measurement right at the worksite with your digital test documentation. The result for your business: greater confidence during audits, noticeably less effort, and maximum time savings with every annual inspection.
