The new DIN EN 61340-5-1:2017-07 (VDE 0300-5-1:2017-07) 14.8.2018

The revised German standard with the general requirements for the protection of electronic components against electrostatic phenomena has been published.

The current version is available from Beuth-Verlag.

Here you get an overview of the most important changes:

- Technical requirements were aligned with other ESD standards
- A new section on product qualification has been added
- Requirements for packaging have been removed and are now in
IEC 61340-5-3 to find
- References to reference documents have been updated
- The measurement method for testing wrist grounding straps has been
and is now included in IEC 61340-4-6.
